Physical Therapy sessions will be customized to your pet and may include the following:
Therapeutic Exercise
As part of treatment, Dr. Peairs will implement appropriate therapeutic exercises with your pet and will give you a customized program of home exercises to safely help your pet with their strength and mobility needs. This may include activity modifications, strengthening, endurance training, or mobility exercises.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy techniques may be used to help address pain, inflammation and immobility. These may include soft tissue mobilization, massage, stretching, and joint mobilizations if appropriate for your pet.
Modalities
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), ice, heat, or other appropriate modalities may be utilized to help with pain, inflammation to maximize your pet's comfort and facilitate an ideal healing environment. If being seen in the clinic, therapeutic laser may be incorporated depending on what is incorporated in your pet's plan of care.
